Privacy policy
As of 2 November 2026 this site loads Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra ads on the first page view, without waiting for a click. The cookie banner is a notice with a Reject button: Reject turns all three off, writes cb_consent=denied for 180 days, and that choice survives a reload. This page lists every third party the pages really load, the storage keys and cookies each one uses, how long they last, and links to the vendors’ own policies.

What the pages load, and when
HTML, CSS and images are served from copbastard.com. On the first view the page also starts three services by default: **Google Analytics 4** (gtag.js, measurement ID G-C43DF3RPEJ), **Microsoft Clarity** (session replay and heat maps, project z7bh6qzozu), **Adsterra** (Native Banner, unit 32052587, and Social Bar, unit 32052588, served from bicea.org), and YouTube only if you press play on a video. Clarity also requests scripts.clarity.ms and regional collection hosts under *.clarity.ms (such as h.clarity.ms, i.clarity.ms and u.clarity.ms); GA4 can request www.google-analytics.com. Ad creative destinations can vary.
Default load is deliberate: nothing here waits for an Accept click. Pressing Reject writes a denial and stops the analytics, session-replay and ad scripts for 180 days; after a reload they are not requested at all. Pressing Accept, or using Cookie settings in the footer, restores them. A browser that sends Global Privacy Control is treated as having pressed Reject, without showing the banner.
The page creates the scripts asynchronously during loading; they can make requests before the first paint, and a rejected reload skips their creation. YouTube is the exception in kind, not in timing: a video stays as a still picture until you press play, and only then is the player requested from youtube.com (privacy-enhanced nocookie host).
Cookies and storage this site sets
Site-controlled keys, both in localStorage on copbastard.com, not cookies: **cb_consent** holds your choice (granted or denied) plus an expiry timestamp, kept for **180 days**; **cb_socialbar_closed** holds the fact that you closed the floating Adsterra bar, also kept for **180 days**. Neither key identifies you, and neither is sent to a server. These are browser preferences used to remember your choice.
Third-party cookies depend on browser settings and vendor behaviour. **Google Analytics 4** uses _ga and property-specific cookies to distinguish browsers and sessions; Google documents a default two-year lifetime that can be configured. **Microsoft Clarity** documents _clck (user preferences), _clsk (session linking), and vendor cookies including CLID, MUID, ANONCHK, MR and SM. **Adsterra** may use storage for advertising measurement and frequency control; its exact cookie names and lifetimes have no source-confirmed value here. **YouTube**, after you press play, may use storage under Google’s policy. The vendor documentation is linked below; each vendor’s description is one source.
The hosting provider may process IP addresses, user agents, requested paths and timestamps for security and abuse handling; this site has no source-confirmed log retention period to publish. Mail you send to the contact address is used to answer that request.
Analytics and session replay
Google Analytics 4 reports aggregate traffic: page views, referrers, country, device class and approximate engagement time. The Google tag starts with ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization denied, analytics_storage granted and ads_data_redaction enabled. Google’s privacy policy describes its processing and international transfers. Microsoft Clarity provides session replay and heat maps; Microsoft documents default masking of sensitive content. Adsterra reports impressions, clicks and estimated revenue for the two units; it does not receive your email or any account data from this site.
I do not sell personal data, do not build cross-site profiles of readers, and do not use analytics to make automated decisions about you. Adsterra supplies the ad units; adult advertising is disabled in this site’s recorded placement configuration.
How to turn ads and analytics off
The site control is the Reject button in the banner, or Cookie settings in the footer followed by Reject; the denial lasts 180 days and can be reversed with Accept. Because the choice is stored on this origin, clearing site data also clears it and the next visit starts granted again.
For advertising generally, use Google’s ad settings, the NAI opt-out and Your Online Choices to opt out of personalised ads from the networks that honour them. Adsterra’s own privacy policy is at adsterra.com/privacy-policy. To stop Google Analytics on all sites, install Google’s opt-out browser add-on; to stop Clarity, Microsoft’s opt-out is at privacy.microsoft.com. Do Not Track is not a reliable signal in current browsers; Global Privacy Control is the signal this site honours.
Your requests
Mail [email protected] to ask what this site holds about you, to correct it, or to object. You can also ask for a copy of the analytics events tied to your browser id, or ask me to delete them; I will pass a deletion request to Google and Microsoft where the data is theirs. You have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority. This policy changes by an edit to this page and a new checked date. The contact page is the same mailbox.
Questions
Do you load analytics and ads before I click Accept?
Yes. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and the two Adsterra units start on the first view. The banner tells you so; Reject stops them and remembers the denial for 180 days.
Do you use cookies?
The site itself writes two localStorage keys, cb_consent and cb_socialbar_closed, each for 180 days. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity set their own cookies (_ga, _ga_C43DF3RPEJ, _clck, _clsk) while you are granted. Adsterra may use advertising storage; specific cookie lifetimes are not source-confirmed here.
How do I withdraw?
Use Cookie settings in the footer and press Reject, or send Global Privacy Control. That writes a denial for 180 days and the scripts are not requested on the next load.
