COP BASTARD story: Katashi in Osaka
You play Katashi, a detective in early-1990s Osaka, working through the yakuza. The developer says the title character had to be “a bastard and a corrupt cop.” One Steam review describes Max Payne-style comic panels between missions. This page stops before the ending.

What the public text agrees on
The store page sets the game in early ’90s Japan and calls you a tough detective. The 30 October naming post is sharper: a corrupt cop, Japanese setting, Hong Kong gunplay, inspired by Violent Cop, Hard Boiled, and an earlier Die Hard note from 2019. Places the launch post names are nightclubs, backstreets, apartment buildings, and industrial warehouses.
A top-rated Steam review adds that Katashi is “a cop under the thumb of a Yakuza leader” and that story beats are comic panels. That is one review. I keep it beside the official “corrupt cop” line instead of merging them into a single backstory. I do not write the framed-and-blackmailed plot some summaries use, because the developer’s post does not say that.
What stays off this page
The last chapter in one full run is titled Sato’s Office, and the ending stretch starts around 1:36:40. Sato is not confirmed as a boss in any store text, and I am not retelling the ending. Multiple endings are not mentioned anywhere I checked.
Questions
Who is Katashi?
The store and the developer’s post name him as the detective you play, and the developer calls him a corrupt cop. A single review adds that a yakuza leader has leverage on him.
Does the story branch?
No branching is described. Comic panels between missions are one reviewer’s account of how the story is told.
