Scores that exist

I use the Steam store percentage, not a side-panel figure that counts a different set of reviews. PC Gamer has a July 2025 hands-on demo preview; it is not a review of the October 2026 release. Sausage Mahoney’s video review gives 7.5 out of 10 and calls the campaign about three and a half hours.

What players and writers actually argue

Hitbox is the cold one: shallow combat, a disappointing rage meter, and an unconvincing Japan, with the VHS art and the gunfeel spared. GameCritix is the warm one: direct shooting, environmental breakables, and a spit-heal that makes you choose. Steam reviews in the top-rated pile say the release build is more polished than the demo, that the campaign is about 3–4 hours, and that the game is “pretty bare bones.”

For $11.69 this is a short, loud corridor shooter. I would buy it if CULTIC-scale rooms and a John Woo finish are the point. I would skip it if I wanted a systems game, a stealth layer, or a long campaign.

Questions

Is COP BASTARD worth buying?

At the launch price it is a short corridor FPS with strong gunfeel and thin combat, according to the reviews above. Read the length page before you expect a weekend.

How does it compare with other boomer shooters?

Writers put it next to tight corridor games more than next to arena DOOM. The similar games page keeps that comparison specific.
